1998 GMC Savana catylac converter

If I remover the converter material from the cataylc converter will it throw off my oxy sencors. My catalatic convers are going out and I just want to remove the material for the mean time and replace them later.

Yes it will, the oxygen sensor behind the converter will notice that the emissions hasn't changed like the converter should have changed it and will throw engine light on and start changing air/fuel ratio to try and fix issue.
