Service Engine Soon

Ok, on my 2000 Buick Park Avenue, the latest thing is the "service engine soon" Here is whats going on.

At first it would come on at 1/2 tank and ONLY come on in like 20 degree or lower weather. Then I realized I needed to click the gas cap three times. Keeping it above 1/2 tank and clicking the gas tank helped. However the other day I hit a bump while turning and it had a little over 1/2 tank and the light came on. Later that evening I started the car and it was off. I filled up, the next day while driving to work on a smooth road (but still in 22 degree weather) the light came on again.

It seems to happen no matter what I do with keeping it filled. I only use Mobil, and I use premium fuel. And it didnt do this at all in warm weather.

What are some simple things that could be going on and what are more exspensive things?

COuld having the fuel system cleaned/ filter changed be the problem?

Or is the 02 sensor bad? If so how much.

Or is this normal for this ungodly cold weather?

Instead of playing guessing games I recommend having the codes read. Let us know what the trouble codes are and we will be able to help you better.
