Noise when turning right at low speed

Pontiac, Grand Am, 1998, 150,000 miles. Sounds like the right front tire is rubbing on something when I turn right at low speed. I have looked and do not see anything unusual, except the front right tire is wearing out, The other tres are in good shape.

Thress possible problems come to mind:

- Front end is way out of alignment (take to alignment shop -- cheap fix)

- Constant Velocity (CV) joint is failing due to a broken CV joint boot or just excessive wear (check CV boots to see if they are broken or torn -- expensive fix)

- Do you have larger than recommended tires on the vehicle?
