Howling noise coming from Rear

My 2005HD Chevy Silverado Makes a howling noise during gear changing, only sometimes and also this same howl can be heard at around 40-50 mph when I take my foot off the gas. I have taken it to the dealer and they can't seem to find any thing wrong with the truck could this be a sign of premature failure of the differentials.

I have actually seen firsthand the diff. Fail on a brand new GM truck, just so know you aren't the first to have this happen. Hope everything works out ok.

Sounds like your rear end going out. Your gears might be dry. Check the gear oil in the rear differential
