I have a 1990 pontiac grand prix with 111,182 miles. I need to know how to change the spark plugs on the rear of the engine next to the firewall. Also, I have to change a burned out fog light. Thanks!

Haven't changed plugs on a 3.1 J body before. But.

What is the problem, clearance? Need a swivel head or an extension? Is there a strut tower in your way?

For my 3.0 standing on the passenger side gives me good clearance for 95% of the job

Not sure if this is exactly your car but it might give you the answer you seek.

I have a 94 grand prix with a 3.1, and I just did the same thing about 6 months ago. Everyone said I had to jack up the back side of the motor. Ha, it was more of a struggle but I removed my alternator and shifted some cables out of my way, and with a little extra time and feeling around I had them all replaced in about 45 minutes. If your 3.1 is like mine, dont forget to use anti sieze on the plugs since there goin in an aluminum heads.
