I installed new brake pads but now I hear grinding noise from the front tire/or brake. Could it be that the bearings at the back of the rotor are bad?

anytime that you do front brakes you should repack the bearings inner and outer unless it is a sealed bearing. this could be just rust making noise either rubbing on the caliper or the dust shield.. you should really check it or take it to a pro and let him check it.
