I've had the same problem for 3 years now and my mechanic still can't find anything wrong. Have you ever figured out the problem?

Could be a bad diode in the alternator.

To test for current drain disconnect the negative side of the battery and connect an amp meter between the battery and the cable. Read what the meter says. Anything over 1/2 amp draw after 20 minutes means you have a current leak. Then you just start pulling fuses till the draw stops. Then you ferret out the problem by using a good wiring diagram.
