My GMC Jimmy has a push button entry with a keyhole as well. When you push the button on the tailgate, it releases the glass and then you reach in to open the tailgate. Lately, the push button has stopped working and I can't make entry at all! If a part has gone bad inside the tailgate how do I get it open manually?

If you cant get it open with the kley then you will have to remove the panel on the hatch from inside to gain access

How do I get the panel off? I cannot get to all the clips and screws since it's in the closed position.

You will have to break it off. I ge them open by pulling real hard in the center, top where he latch is and can get it open far enough to open it with a screwdriver.
