Water was leaking from intake manifold gasket. Mechanic replaced intake manifold gasket & thermostat. Picked up vehicle & broke down with knocking in the engine in less than 40 miles. Towed back to same shop & they said engine is no good now. What could have happened when they worked on my vehicle?

They didnt change the oil. Check for a new filter, anti freeze got into the bearings. I would say its there fault, unless you drove it for a while with it leaking coolant

Thanks for the feedback. They did not change the oil. I drove the Jimmy 7 miles after it started leaking coolant(thats including driving it to the repair shop).
