1989 GMC C3500 engine won't idle

I have a 1989 gmc 3500 with a 454 engine. The engine dies out at 1000 rpm's. At 1000 rpm's the engine races and then lowers down to almost staling. I have replaced the spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, iac valve. Don't know what else it could be. Any help is great thankyou.

Greetings! Yours is doing exactly what a friend of mine is doing. He replaced the distributor with no success and now wonders if computer is bad. Any updates to report from you? Thanks!
