Squealing noise

I have a squealing sound coming from the engine compartment. It's more pronounced when the truck is in gear, although lightly pressing the accelerator with my hand (while in park) it squeals only briefly. It gets louder as I accelerate, speeding up to the point where it begins to sound like a tapping sound. I tried to locate the sound with the hood up pulling the throttle cable, but can't isolate it. Plus it's hard to duplicate the sound while in park. A/C on or off makes no difference. I've replaced the belt to a "gator back(?)" But it's still doing the same thing. Could this be as simple as replacing the belt tensioner or is it more complicated than that?

The first thig I would do is remove the tension the check all pulleys by hand, anything that binders or wobbloes is a concern, pay particular attention to the tensioner, and the idler if you have one. With 210,000 miles I would change both on principle!
