Lock actuator bad?

I have a 2003 GMC Sierra Crew Cab and the rear door locks do not always unlock. Sometimes they do- most of the time they do not- they move manually and they have no problem locking electronically-

My question(s) are:

Has anyone had this problem?

Has it been resolved by replacing the actuator or is there another component that I can check?

Is there a way to trouble shoot this that I'm not thinking of?

Please help! Thank you!

Use a voltmeter on the actuator plug, as you activate the switch It should show 12v Ground the black end of test and probe with the red end, test both wires, and use the switch both lock and unlock.
Usually when the actuator fails, it won't operate any way! If no volts in unlock, either you have a bad switch, or a short.
