1997 GMC C1500 auto problem

When I start my truck the shift light doesnot come on which calls the truck to drag when I accelerate on the gas paddle, but when I use my remote start it seems to bypass and the light comes on until I hit the brake then it goes off again. What could it be?

Could be a problem with the remote starter or a bad connection.

Most likely associated with the remote starter.

Try unplugging the box under your dash for the remote starter and see if that solves your problem
