how do you disconnect the quick disconect fitting from the clutch & do you have to have the special tool?

Otc 7910. Is the part number for the tool used to dissconect the clutch line from the slave cyl. One end of the tool is for 1996 & newer(ngv3500 trns) the other is for cars (simular to ford disconnect tool)
