1993 GMC C1500 ignition

When I turn key. Starter will engage other times nothing happens. But if I keep hitting the key the starter will engage.

Welcome to the forum, The purple wire at the starter solenoid should be hot with the key in the start position. When the problem occurs, if that wire isn't hot, backtrack the circuit. You may have to check feed to and from the ignition switch?
