1997 Geo Prizm Timing belt/ fuel injectors.

My car sometimes stutters and almost clonks out when i'm sitting at a red light. When I push the accelerator, it sometimes also stutters and hesitates until I get over 10 mph, or stutters when i'm trying to accelerate on the highway. Any help on what it could be and what I need to do to fix it would greatly be aprreciated

Check fuel pressure with mechanical gauge, next check spark, look for blue snapping spark.

If above is OK, check mechanical timing on distributor (PCM must be in diagnostic mode).

Next check Idle Air control valve (IAC), by removing it and cleaning, then remove EGR and clean pintle and base.

Check condition of cap, rotor and wires.
