Electrical problem
1999 Geo Metro 121000 miles

My driving lights work, my high beams work but when I turn my switch to turn on the headlights on they go off. The headlights are always on while driving but not the tail lights so at night I can either have headlights or tail lights the garage told me it was the switch and the stearing colum would have to come apart to fix it is this something I can do on my own? Thanks

Check your fusebox. Geos are noted for this problem. They short out in the fusebox, actually the wiring harness for the lights. It makes that you can use the daytime driving lights and the marker lights to go with them. Just don't turn lights all the way on. The thing is to get another fusebox that is not burnt out. I uploaded two pictures of the wiring harness to show how they burn out plug in the fusebox.
