1998 Geo Metro White smoke from tailpipe

When the car is started, excessive white smoke comes out of tailpipe. Check engine light has come on. What causes this white smoke?

Hi there,

White smoke is an indication that there could be a coolant leak into the cylinders, have the cooling system checked, have a head check done and get a scan to see what the set fault code is, start here.
