1992 Geo Metro Front Wheel Drive Manual

I just got a 92 Geo metro 5 speed. I need to know the timing procedures, as in how to time it. I heard I have to disconnect some hose or something first. But I have no clue. Can anyone help me out?

To adjust ignition timing you have to use a timing light, do you have this tool and/or have you ever used it before?

Yes I have the light. But the line moves back and fourth like a centemeter. Is there something I'm not doing that I'm supposed to before adjusting? I heard something like I need to diconnect a vaccum line or something
