1989 Geo Metro brand new altenater does not charge brand ne

1989 Geo Metro Engine Size unknown Two Wheel Drive Automatic 99560 miles

I have a brand new alternator and I have a brand new battery in the car my altenater is grounded correctely and my bettery to. My problem is that my altenator dont charge my battery and I just bough a new alternator and battery. Im not sure what to look for?
can you please help me to find what could cause this problem.

Probably a defective alternater.

Sure it isn;t a reman and not new?

Seen this way too often.
