Gear shifter broke and it won't go into park. Searched online found out this is a common problem in almost every line of ford vehicles? How can I repair the shifter? Or do I need to get a new steering column?

Check to see if the cable has broken that may be the problem.

It looks like white steel or something completely broke in half. Can I replace that or not? Wondering if I need a whole new steering column?

I'm sure there is a part for it but it's probably a ford dealer part. If you replace column you'll have to get it set up for your security system in your truck. I don't have any pics to send
