First off vehicle runs perfect. I was driving home from work and heard the "low fuel" chime and immediately looked down at the instrument panel, sure enough the "no gas" light was on. Well I knew I wasn't low on fuel (just put half a tank in) and that's when I noticed none of the gauges were working. Everyone of them were flat lined. Mined you I was still driving but neither tachometer or speedometer gauges were working as well as the fuel, voltage, oil pressure or coolant etc. The only signs of life were the illuminated "low fuel", "check gauges", a yellow circle with a key inside and a slash through it and the digital odometer. I will try to upload a video or at least a picture. This is the third Jeep I've owned (1999-2005 model) and never have I seen the key symbol before. Ignition switch/sensor maybe? Any ideas or answers would be appreciated!

Hello,

This could be a problem with a loose or corroded ground wire I have included in the diagrams down below a wiring diagram for your instrument cluster. Ground 202 is near your headlamp switch. Let us know what you find out.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks for he diagrams but it's like reading Chinese. I can't find where your talking about (ground 202 is near your headlamp switch)? Do I remove the dashboard to get to this? And are you referring to the knob that brightens and dims the dashboard lights? Sorry for my lack of terminology. Now. I did get the problem sort of resolved. I unhooked the battery for twenty minutes (someone said this would reset the computer?) And cleaned some corrosion from the cables (where the bare wires are connected to the terminal ends) and this kind of fixed the issue. But yesterday it went out again for about five minutes and then came back on and has since stayed on. I've noticed this is happening on rainy days.

Hello again,

I misspoke earlier. It is ground 302, near the airbag control module. I have included all the information in the diagrams below. Again, let us know what you find out.

Thanks,
Alex
