The odometer and shift indicators work fine though.

Hi,

This can be an issue with the instrument cluster, body control module, or a wiring issue. What we need to do is scan the can-bus to see if there are codes specific to this issue.

CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, the different modules are tied together via a few wires. This type of scan will retrieve codes regardless of the module storing it.

I'm suggesting this because without doing it, the repair will become a guessing game. That can become expensive. If there are codes retrieved, I can help you focus on the problem area identified.
