Do you have to put the motor at TDC when replacing the timing cover gasket?

Hello,

No, you do not have to make sure that the engine is at TDC to replace the timing chain cover. The crankshaft pulley should be keyed and only go on one way. I have included the instructions from the vehicle manufacturer on the removal and installation of the timing chain cover for your vehicle in the diagrams down below. Please go through this guide and get back to us with how everything turns out. Happy Holidays.

Thanks,
Alex
