I recently had the fuel pump replaced by a local repair shop. Today was the first time since the replacement that I filled my gas tank and gasoline started leaking from underneath the car on both sides, as if someone had pulled plugs out of the fuel tank. I assume something was not properly adjusted during the fuel pump install and the car is now back with the repair shop.

I would appreciate some feedback, as I expect to hear from them tomorrow and want to make sure they do not blame the problem on something else and try to charge me for a fuel tank replacement or something like that.

Thanks much.

They may have not replaced the fuel pump seal or was damaged during installation. Also, even a small pebble falling on the area where the seal goes will cause fuel to leak through the seal.
