Fuel gauge sensor

My gas gauge might be stuck at half a tank because it seemed at half for a while, but when I put gas in it, the gas went up.

Good morning,

Most likely the sender unit itself is the issue inside the tank.

I attached the procedure and location for you for this issue.

REMOVAL

1. Use a marker and place a mark (4) across the position of the fuel pump module lock ring and fuel pump module (1) prior to removal.
2. Release fuel pressure from the fuel system, See: Fuel Pressure Release > Procedures > Fuel System Pressure Release Procedure.
3. Disconnect electrical connector (2) from fuel pump module (1).
4. Remove fuel line (3) from fuel pump module (1).

5. Remove fuel pump module lock using special tool 9340.

6. If equipped with AWD, disconnect fuel line between fuel pump module (1) and fuel level unit (2).

WARNING: The fuel reservoir of the fuel pump module does not empty out when the tank is drained. The fuel in the reservoir will spill out when the module is removed.

7. Remove fuel pump module from fuel tank.

8. Remove fuel pump module O-ring seal from fuel tank.
