Gas Octane

Will premium gas be harmful to my 4-banger? It's rated for 87 octane. We in Lake Charles, LA. Have access to gas containing No Alcohol added.

It won't harm it but you're wasting your money using it.

Agreed with Wrenchtech. Your engine is tuned to use 87 octane. High grade fuel ti typically used for forced induction engines, or motors tuned to use it. The octane number has nothing to do with quality. It only means that the higher the octane rating the slower it burns.
