This engine requires at least 87 octane but does run better on 89 or 91. However, you just want to keep an hear out for detonation (pinging when accelerating) and then increase octane until it goes away. This is a sign of carbon deposits that are caused by impurities in the fuel.

If you stick to reputable fuel stations, you will fine with 87.

Let me know if you have questions. Thanks

Would it be okay or better to just use 92 or 93 all the time?

That would be fine but will be more expensive. The vehicle is rated for 87 or higher so you don't have to use the higher level.

The higher the level the better ability it has to combust. So high performance engines require the higher octane. When you use lower octane and it doesn't combust "completely" it leaves deposit behind and they will actually cause what is called knocking or detonation but again, this may not happen.

If your budget can handle the higher grade then it would be best. Hope this helps. Thanks

I would not vary off the recommended octane usage. You may create hot spots in the cylinders which will lead to detonation.

There is no reason to upgrade to the higher octane as it will change the efficiency.
