I just got this car as fairly used, the engine runs fine and no engine lights issues, but I have observed its rate of fuel consumption is rather worrisome! I have taken it to mechanic to have the chokes, spark plugs, Injector, air filter, sensor, checked and serviced, but the problem persists. What could be the problem?

Oh! I haven't taken time to calculate the mpg, but I surely will. No smoke observed from the exhaust. Thanks

You might also just want to do a complete tune-up, spark plugs, fuel and air filter, pcv valve, and make sure there is no "check engine" light remaining on or coming on while driving and if so stop by a autozone or advance auto and have the engine trouble codes retrieved from the pcm.
When you get the mpg, post it here.

Many thanks. The problem has finally been identified. I decided to fill the gas tank today when it was discovered the fuel filter panel isn't tightly covered, this was fixed immediately and now i'm enjoying the ride. Thanks so much guys. I'm so grateful.
