Cannot reach "easy connectors" coming off of tank lines. Unplugged wires, fill and vent lines. Unbolted straps. (Looks as if I dropped the tank a little I would have better access to the fuel clips). Tank is loose but seems to be attached at the top as it rocks and will not drop.

If you have removed the straps, taken the fuel filler hose completely off, and taken the fuel return line off, there should be nothing holding it up. But if you just loosened the clamps on the filler hose and return line, you have to actually work them off of the tank before it will drop. The have been on there a long time and are sticking pretty well. Do not be afraid to put a little elbow grease into getting those hoses off (just do not squeeze them). Wiggle, twist, and pull on them until they come loose.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Fill and return are completely off. Thank you for your reply.
Tank seems suspended from the top of tank.

God bless Google. I took a shot and googled it, and sure enough AutoZone's site came up with a guide. Check this out and see if you missed something: http://www.autozone.com/repairguides/ParkAvenue-1997-1999/Fuel-Tank/Removal-Installation/_/P-0996b43f81acfea8

Let us know.

I think you might have to find a way to reach those "easy" connectors. I use quotes because any time they use "easy" in the name of something, it is not easy.

Thank you. Nope, I did not miss anything. Just those two connectors.I may have to make a special tool. It sure seems that the tank should drop about six inches with the lines connected.

Found leak. Somebody cut an access to the pump in the floorboard and and put a 8 inch cut in the tank. Lol. Some people. And it was just some wires holding the tank up. Idea of dropping tank to make connectors more accessible works. Thanks again for your time.

Good grief! Glad you got to it. Nothing like aftermarket "engineering." Feel free to come back in the future.
