Fuel pump strap

Check engine light came on. Was towed to an automotive shop in another town. They said that two wires were loose and melting on the exhaust pipe, but they said the fuel pump strap or belt was missing and should be fixed. My question is the strap. Is there a strap on it, and how necessary is it to have repaired?

Welcome to 2CarPros.

The fuel tank straps are what hold the tank on to the vehicle. They are very important. There should be two of them. If only one is holding and it breaks, the tank will drop.
