Hello,

My husband and I inherited a 1979 MG midget and we are fixing the engine. It turns over but does not catch. We are going to replace the fuel pump and are not sure what the best replacement part would be. Any ideas on the best replacement fuel pump for a 1979 MG midget? Thank you.

Hi Curtis and Bobbie,

While I do not have direct knowledge on MGs I do have knowledge on similar vehicles.

I have tried using GMB parts which are OEM alternative parts and found they are ok. However, I have had really good success with AC delco and Delphi. They are normally a little more expensive but if they make a part for your application, I would try them.

I looked it up on a common parts website and they do offer each of these for 1976 MG Midgets. Again, I don't think you can make a wrong decision with these parts but if it were me, I would go with AC Delco.

Please let me know if you have any other questions. I will be happy to assist how I can. Thanks
