Ordered a fuel pump for my 98 V6 mustang and everything looks the same as the old one except it's got only one electrical connector coming out of it whilst the old one had two and the configuration of the fuel pump wires are different in the harness itself.

Hello, Im seeing 7 wires at the fuel pump connector for the 3.8L V6, can you post your vin # or send it in a message to me and I can look up the correct vehicle by the vin.
There are wires at the fuel tank for the pump, the fuel level sender, 3 wires for the Fuel tank pressure sensor, and 2 Ground wires, Ill post the wiring diagrams for you, but the vin # or just correct vehicle info would help. I think the vin Im looking at right now has a "4" as the 8th digit in the vin number.

I just looked at the 1997 fuel pump circuit and it is completely different than the 1998.

If you would like the oem part number for the fuel pump, we can provide that with the full vehicle information.
