Fuel pump and gas gauge stopped working

Fuel pump stopped working without any prior problem and the gas gauge also quit working. Is this a relay problem if both quit at once?

The relay only effects the pump and only at certain times. The gas gauge needs to be checked for a gauge or sending unit problem. If they both quit at once check wires by tank they may have been cut somehow.
