I am replacing the fuel pump and when trying to remove the fuel tank I cannot get the main fuel line off. There is a rubber hose around the metal tube and it seems almost sealed. So i'm thinking of cutting it and buying a new one but don't know where I would find a new one or how to do it.

Hello,

This is probably a quick connector on the fuel line. There is a special tool to get disconnect these connectors. You can get a set of them at any auto parts store for around $10.00 to $15.00. To disconnect you pull the two lines towards each other at the connector to take the pressure off of the connector. Then slide the tool in until it pushes the three clips holding the connector together up out of the way. The lines should then disconnect. Sometimes it takes a little force to get the lines apart because they are stuck in place, but they will come apart. In the diagrams down below I have included the factory directions for the removal of your vehicle's fuel tank. Please go through this guide and get back to us with how it goes.

Thanks,
Alex
