I checked the fuel pressure and it's at 38 PSI when idling.

Hi,

This sounds more like a mass air flow meter. Your fuel pressure while idling should be between 26-45 PSI so you pressure okay. When you step on the accelerator if the MAF sensor is not reading properly then it will not tell the PCM there is more air coming in and it will stall the engine.

When the engine is idling, is it running rough? Also we need to find out if there are codes to confirm this but just from what you are saying it sounds like a MAF.
