I have a fuel leak where do I start? Where is my fuel filter located? Can you show me with illustrations please? Do I need to do anything with my gas tank?

Hi,

The fuel filter is located at the top of the fuel tank. See pic 1 below. To replace the filter, the tank needs to be removed.

If you turn the key to the run position, is there any evidence of the leak other than an odor? Is there a specific area on the vehicle where the smell is its strongest? If there is a leak, if you don't see a drip, oftentimes there is a stain where the leak is located. Check around under the vehicle. Also, check the fuel tank to see if there are any marks or evidence it is leaking from the top of the tank.

Let me know what you find.

Joe
