Hello.

I have a Toyota Mark x. I selected Camry because there is no option for Mark x. So, the issue is that I go to the gas station for refueling and the remaining range for fuel is 5 km. I put 10 liters of gas in it but there is no change. The driving range is 0 km now. And the car is still on the reserve. Kindly guide me about the issue I shall be very thankful to you.
Thanks

Hi,

This model isn't offered in the US, so I don't have specific info for it. However, I will try my best to help.

Based on your description, it sounds as if either the float on the level sensor or the rheostat has failed. The fuel level gauge in the vehicle receives a signal from the level sensor in the fuel tank.

I was able to find a pic showing one for your vehicle. See pic below. I highlighted the rheostat. The rheostat is nothing more than a resister. As the float lowers and raises, the lever moves against a resister, changing the voltage signal. That is what changes the fuel level gauge.

You could check the wiring to it, but other than that, you will need to check if there is a voltage change as it moves.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
