I just replaced my fuel pump had to rewire a new plug and now my gas gauge does not work at all. I pulled it out made sure that I did not bend my float or anything. It is just reading empty when I have over 3/4 full tank of gas.

Good afternoon.

Did you have to replace the square plug and make it a flat plug?

How did you connect the wires? Did you solder and shrink wrap the wires or just use butt connectors?

Did you match the colors?

Can you post a picture of what you see?

I used butt connectors and I had to retrace my steps found that the power wire was corroded past the second plug so I bridged in a new section of wire and now it works just fine. I just finished putting everything back together.
