Front right wheel shaking badly

My car started shaking kind of wildly on the front right side. I jacked it up and I was checking things. Well I was rocking wheel top to bottom like checking a ball joint. Well I noticed the top of the strut was moving very loosely inside the rubber of the mount. Could this cause it to shake like this at even very low speed?

Good evening.

Yes it could. The upper strut mount is no good and has to be replaced. You would have two options.
1. Replace just the mount.
2. Replace the strut assembly.

The recommended repair is the entire strut but depends on your budget.
