I recently noticed some metallic sound, like metal items brushing each other while closing the door. The noise comes up only when window glass is down. Typically, I keep my windows closed and hence did not notice this previously. Planning to take it service center in coming week. I am grateful for any inputs on this issue. I wanted to have some insight before heading to the VW authorized service.
I am from Bangalore, India and the car is under warranty. Also, any insights on how this issue occurs and is there anything that I need to be mindful about?

Thanks in advance!

It is probably something simple, like a loose bolt. There is not much that you can do to keep it from happening, other than make sure that the nuts and bolts are properly tightened, using lock washers as necessary. Hopefully the guys at the dealership know what they are doing well enough to use washers so this does not happen again.

Thank you very much, just checked with a friend of mine he feels it should not be too big of an issue. Will respond post the visit to VW service center.

These days there are a lot of things inside the doors. It could be anything from a loose fastener, cable guide rubbing, window track that is loose or?
Let us know what they find.

Hi All, sorry had not logged into the site in a while. The issue was a minor one, just a loose bolt that caused the issue. The Authorized Service guys fixed it without any hassles. It has been a few months and no noise. So far power window, electronically controlled mirror, child sensor in for the window glass, one pinch up/down all work fine too.
