I recently bought this SUV 1500. Having a hard time finding my front differential gear ratio for one? Also, I would like to know how I find the gear ratio and compatibility for other SUV's like a Yukon xl or Escalade ext. I’m doing some shopping for a fronted differential. Thanks for the help.

Hey ANTHONY BEERS,

It can be difficult getting the right part sometimes when finding a used differential.

I would advise a great place to start is to call a Chevrolet dealer and get them to give you the part number for your vehicles diff. Give them your VIN number to ensure they are giving you the right part number.

They should be able to then give you a list of possible vehicles fitted with the same part. Also from this when you have the correct part number you can do your own searching to find used units/crossover parts vehicles.

They will have the ratio information too.

Getting the info straight from Chevy can save you some time and money getting information from elsewhere. From experience that's where I would start.

Hope this helps.

Regards, Joe
