I had a broken CV axle replaced on the drivers front side, but got it back with a rubbing noise and steering issues. Took it back to the shop and they said the wheel hub was bad also. Replaced that, but still the same issue. When you lift the car up the wheel moves around shaking it at 12 and 6, not sure about 3 and 9. I did not really see if it could be a tie rod or something else moving. The end of the axle that butts up to the wheel hub is rubbing against something obviously, but have not been able to check it out since my car is in the shop still. The metal einf in the pictures is supposed to be flat, not bent down with grooves worn into it. Any advice on what could be the issue would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Good evening.

Make sure the shop verify that the axle is correct. It may be the wrong axle. If it did not make this noise prior to the replacement, then it has to do with the axle itself.

The 12 and 6 play could also be a ball joint. Have him check that as well.

What amount of length difference would cause this kind problem? I am in Germany presently and ordered it from a German Subaru dealership, but from pictures I have seen, the axle seems to be correct. I might try to have them take off the other side to compare. I will also have them check the ball joint as well. Thanks for the advice.
