On my SUV when I turn on and select "defrost" air comes out of the front vents, when I choose front vents on the climate control air only come out of the defrost vents?

You are correct that this is most likely the control module. However, we need to check the operation of the mode door actuator just to make sure it is operating. However, if you are commanding it to defrost and the actuator is moving in the opposite direction then the control module is the issue as the actuator just moves in the direction that it is told. The easiest way to check the actuator is to swap it with another door because they appear to all be the same.

From there we need to replace the control module. I attached the info for your review. Let me know what you have questions on. Thanks

Thank you for the advice! Funny thing happened over the weekend I had to disconnect the battery and this morning when I turned it on it seems it is working now.
