Hello,

I badly need a help. A few days back I changed my brake booster due to brake booster issue. Now the first 10-15 minutes car is driving smoothly. But after driving 15 minutes all the brakes are stiff and not releasing to their normal position. All the brake disc and lug nuts become very hot (like a red flame) and fumes come out. What would be the problem and possible solution please? Your answer will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Regards

Hi,

The first thing to check is if the brake pedal is fully in the rest position (fully released). The best thing to do is remove the clevis pin that attached the pedal to the booster pushrod assembly and see if the pedal is preventing the push rod from fully disengaging.

Also, when you reinstalled the brake master cylinder, did you have any issues? If you disconnect the vacuum check valve from the booster, do the brakes release?

Also, see if the brakes release if you loosen the brake master cylinder. Do not drive it that way if they do.

Let me know.

Joe

Hello buddies,

The problem has been solved. Actually, the brake switch assembly was in the wrong position. After reassembling the brake switch it worked. Now all the brakes are working fine. Whole hearted thanks to all of you.

Hi,

Thank you for the update. That actually happens more often than you think. That is why I suggested removing the clevis to see if the pedal was fully releasing.

Regardless, I'm glad it's resolved. Feel free to come back anytime in the future.

Take care,

Joe
