I have a leaking freeze out plug top of motor behind the alternator. I am a female and I don't know much about cars and I am on disability and I don't have much money. So I was wanting to know if anyone knows how to get to the freeze out plug take it out and replace it. Thank you so much in advance. Sandra

Good evening,

There are 2 V6 engines for your car.

Can you give me the complete VIN number so I can get the correct information?

Do you realize you gave me the VIN for a Chevrolet truck and not a Taurus?

Can you please verify?

This should be the correct VIN number for the Ford Taurus VIN number 1FALP5226TG222936. I am sorry for getting the wrong number and I would like to say thank you so very much for your help I really appreciate it. And I am sorry that it takes me so long to respond to your email messages I don't have very good service here. Thank you Roy for all of your help. Sandra.

Thank you. Thought I was going nuts.

If you remove the alternator, can you see the freeze plug? The reason I ask is if you have to remove the bracket, you will need to remove not only the alternator but the power steering pump and the AC compressor to release the bracket.
