Windstar 2000 barely runs with few gallons left in tank

2000 Windstar runs extremely rough when only a few gallons left in tank - misfires and won't run faster than 20-30 mph. Have tried adding the dry gas/injector cleaners to no avail. As long as more than quarter tank, it runs fine. Any ideas?

Try doing a fuel pressure test, but it sounds like you have a bad fuel pump. The lower the gas level gets, the harder it is on the pump. It sounds like it needs replaced.

Its crittical that u change out the fuel filter when replacing the fuel pump
