Check Engine Light

I have a 1998 Ford Windstar and the check engine light is staying on. What is the problem? Sometime it seems to have a loss of power and then all at once it just takes off like normal. Is this related or another problem?

Take it to Auto zone (if you have one in your area) and they will scan it for free. Then you will have to decide where to go from there depending on the code. With out know the code it is hard to diagnois.
