Rear brake light and tail lights remain on after vehicle shut off. I cleared it by turning on the engine and lights and shifting into drive and reverse then park again and turning engine off. The other day, I decided to not worry about it when I ran a quick errand. When I got back and turned the engine on, I noticed a burning smell. Is this a fuse problem? What do I need to do?

Hi:
Is the problem only the brake lights or all tail lights? If only brake lights, I would start with the brake light switch under the dash connected to the brake pedal lever.

Let me know what you find.
Joe
