Engine Performance problem 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 122000 miles

Had engine code P0306, which is #6 cylinder misfiring. Replaced plug and lead, also checked fuel injector for clicking sound which means it is working. I am wondering if coil is bad in cap.

Hello,

I would do a compression test to see whats going on. Here is a guide

Please run this test and get back to us.

Cheers, Ken

I did replace the plug and wire. There is only one ignition coil for all six cylinders.

If you replaced the plug, wire, and you hear the injector working, you need to check compression in that cylinder. As far as the coil, I would think a bad one would create a random misfire and not only cyl 6.

Let me know what you find. Also, make sure there are no vacuum leaks.

Ford car dealer found broken valve spring on #6 cylinder. Van runs fine now. I was glad to see that it was only a broken valve spring and nothing major. I appreciate all the help and maybe this will help someone else with a like problem. $280.00 all fixed
